- Abstract:
Satya Nadella, the CEO of Microsoft, is leading the charge in the development of artificial general intelligence (AGI). In 2019, Microsoft invested $1 billion in OpenAI, an AI lab, and their partnership has since grown into a profit-sharing deal worth over $13 billion. Nadella has also demonstrated his strategic skills by offering jobs to OpenAI employees when the board briefly fired their CEO, Sam Altman. Recently, Nadella has taken steps to reduce Microsoft's reliance on OpenAI by investing in the French AI lab Mistral and building a team of researchers to develop their own large language models.
