- Additional Information
- Abstract:
SITKA spruce is often the tree you'll see standing in monoculture plantations in Ireland. But Sitka spruce, when in its natural habitat (Ireland isn't, by the way) is a magnificent tree. It's one of only four species documented to exceed 100 m (300 ft) in height. Its name is derived from Sitka in southeast Alaska, and its range hugs the western coast of Canada and the US.
