- Abstract: Based on an oral account of the history of Casabindo and the construction of its church, the article explores in various sources the probable course taken by the comunal lands of Casabindo and Cochinoca from the 17th to the 19th centuries. This process has been widely studied by historiography, but an attempt is made here to provide new data, especially those referring to the location and extension of these lands, their relationship with the brotherhoods and the posible strategies of the former community members to avoid losing them during the firs thalf of the 19th century.
