    • Abstract:
The budget plans for 2024/25 in East Africa's leading economies, Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, have been released. Despite high regional growth projections, weak currencies, debt distress, and unpopular taxes pose threats to stability. Kenya is facing the toughest position, with a rebounding currency but pressure on foreign exchange reserves. Uganda is dealing with rising debt service costs, while Tanzania and Uganda are focusing on infrastructure projects. Rwanda has also unveiled its budget for 2024/25, with robust economic growth and support from the IMF. [Extracted from the article]
