    • Abstract:
A recent study conducted at San Luigi Gonzaga Hospital in Turin, Italy, has found that the administration of phospholipid curcumin (Meriva) for 72 weeks improved liver histology, kidney disease, and metabolic profile in patients with nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). The study involved 52 biopsy-proven NASH patients who were randomized to receive either Meriva or a placebo. The results showed that Meriva treatment led to a higher rate of NASH resolution, fibrosis improvement, and regression of liver fibrosis compared to the placebo. Additionally, Meriva improved renal function, glucose levels, lipid profile, and inflammatory markers. The study concluded that Meriva administration was safe and well-tolerated in NASH patients.
