    • Abstract:
A recent study conducted by researchers at Ain Shams University evaluated different surgical approaches for multilevel cervical spondylotic myelopathy (CSM), a chronic spinal compression condition. The study compared anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) with or without plating to laminectomy with or without fusion. The results showed that both anterior and posterior approaches led to significant functional improvements with no difference in complications. However, anterior surgery had shorter hospital stays, less blood loss, better quality of life scores, and more successful restoration of cervical lordosis. [Extracted from the article]
