    • Abstract:
Book fairs have adapted to the digital age by incorporating high-tech elements and virtual components. The American Booksellers Association's annual conference, which hosted the largest U.S. book fair from 1947 to 2019, has evolved over the years and faced challenges such as declining attendance and competition from other book fairs. The cancellation of BookExpo in 2020 led to the emergence of the virtual U.S. Book Show, which was successful and will continue as a hybrid event. Regional bookseller associations have also stepped up their efforts to serve their members, with some hosting virtual conferences and others planning in-person gatherings. The AWP Conference, which features a book fair, has faced challenges due to the pandemic but continues to be a valuable event for indie presses. [Extracted from the article]
