XPO Logistics has established a Female Driver Academy to attract more women to the trucking industry. The academy offers a 12- to 16-week program to develop and enhance the skills of female drivers using XPO's internal training team. The goal is to create a group of highly skilled and professional female drivers who are familiar with the company's customers and products. The first graduates are expected to start driving full-time for XPO by August. Additionally, DAF has launched a special edition XG+ truck model to celebrate 75 years of truck manufacturing, featuring premium features and improved fuel efficiency. The HGV sector has seen a greater increase in female drivers compared to the passenger-carrying vehicle sector over the past decade, according to data from the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency.
