Domestic habitability in conditions of confinement. A prospective post-pandemic vision. (English)
    • Abstract:
The objective of this research was to analyze the domestic habitability lived by young mexicans during the pandemic and confinement due to Covid-19, from the uses, adecuations, perceptions and meanings that they made of their houses, with the purpose to access a broader understanding of the social reality around the event. From a qualitative, descriptive and exploratory approach, through the life story technique, the data was collected and then coded and categorized to construct the information. The results reveal differentiated and in some cases ambivalent and even contradictory experiences of habitability among young people. It is concluded that the pandemic and confinement constitute a complex sociocultural phenomenon that is far from being an overcome issue. That is why it is pertinent to rethink the way in which architectural space is produced and reproduced, as a means to attend the post-pandemic domestic habitability needs, which the world demands and have not been resolved. • Abstract:
