    • Abstract:
The average tenure of college presidents in the United States has dropped to 5.7 years, the shortest in history, according to a report by the American Council on Education. In Ohio, more than half of the four-year public university presidents have been in their positions for less than two years. The COVID-19 pandemic, along with challenges such as rising costs, campus unrest, and the growth of online classes, has made the job of a college president increasingly difficult. The increased turnover is seen as detrimental to the stability and relationships of the institutions. [Extracted from the article]
