    • Abstract:
This article discusses the economic benefits that Cyprus has experienced since joining the European Union (EU) in 2004. The alignment with EU regulations and standards has improved Cyprus' business environment, attracting foreign investment and promoting economic growth. Despite the financial crisis and subsequent Eurozone crisis, Cyprus has managed to recover with support from the EU, and by 2022, it had a GDP of approximately €23 billion. EU membership has also made Cyprus a more attractive destination for foreign direct investment due to its strategic location and access to European and Middle Eastern markets.
