- Alternate Title:
The imagined community in the Kingdom of Valencia at the end of the fueros' regime. (English)
- Abstract:
The objective of this article is to explore the collective identity in the Kingdom of Valencia the las days that it was governed by the Fueros, abolished per Royal Decree in 1707 on the basis of the right of conquest by Philip V. It is known that in the middle of the XIV Century a valencian sentiment of belonging arose attached to the fueros principally, and at the end of the XV Century the Crown of Aragon was integrated to that of Spain, meaning that at the first Bourbon's arrival it had been for two centuries part of the latter, keeping its own laws. In order to understand the imagined community of the epoch, a summary of the main political events of that time is made, and patriotic vocabulary is analysed in the sense used by contemporaries. - Abstract:
