    • Abstract:
New York Governor Kathy Hochul and state lawmakers have reached a budget deal that will eliminate paid sick leave for most New Yorkers next summer. However, state employees have already lost this benefit. The decision was made after the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention changed its isolation rules, reducing the recommended isolation period for people with Covid-19. Paid leave for Covid-19 is still available, but only if health authorities mandate isolation or quarantine rules. This decision comes as Covid-19 cases in New York have started to increase, although they are not as severe as previous outbreaks. [Extracted from the article]
