- Abstract: The article discusses research which evaluated changes in antibiotic prescribing for pediatric urinary tract infections (UTI) at emergency departments (ED) visits in the U.S. from 2011 to 2020. The study assessed antibiotic prescribing trends and analyzed antibiotic prescriptions for pediatric UTI visits by time period, changes in trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole, first-generation cephalosporin and third-generation cephalosporin use over time.
