    • Abstract:
Construction spending in the United States during April 2024 was slightly lower than the previous month, but still higher than the previous year. Public construction spending, including highways and educational facilities, decreased slightly, while private construction spending, including residential and nonresidential projects, also decreased slightly. The Associated General Contractors of America noted that overall spending declined despite increases in manufacturing and power construction. In other news, a limestone mining operation in Idaho has been approved for development, and Cemex projects in the United States and Mexico have been recognized for their conservation efforts by the Wildlife Habitat Council. The Mine Safety and Health Administration conducted impact inspections at 15 mines in April, identifying violations related to safety hazards. [Extracted from the article]
