    • Abstract:
The highlighted publication in the Plant Journal discusses the role of alternative splicing in the response to abscisic acid (ABA) in Arabidopsis plants. The authors found that the Arabidopsis ecotype Kn-0 is less sensitive to ABA compared to the widely used Col-0 ecotype, and this difference is based on alternative splicing. They conducted RNA sequencing and found that the reduced sensitivity of Kn-0 to ABA is due to lower transcriptional changes and lower levels of key signaling components. The authors also identified specific genes and sequence variants that could be further investigated as potential targets for understanding ABA responses. [Extracted from the article]
