    • Abstract:
This article discusses a case study of a 62-year-old woman with pontine autosomal dominant microangiopathy and leukoencephalopathy (PADMAL). The patient presented with slurred speech and subsequent memory loss and mobility impairment. The MRI revealed acute ischemic cerebral infarction, diffuse white matter hyperintensity, multiple lacunar infarctions, and multiple cerebral microbleeds. The patient was diagnosed with PADMAL, which is caused by mutations in the COL4A1 gene. The study suggests that susceptibility-weighted imaging should be used to assess the risk of cerebral hemorrhage in patients with PADMAL. [Extracted from the article]
