    • Abstract:
New research from Palacky University in Olomouc, Czech Republic focuses on the use of gold(I) N-heterocyclic carbene complexes with 7-azaindoles for the treatment of ovarian cancer. The complexes were found to be cytotoxic against ovarian cancer cells and showed higher cytotoxicity than the drug cisplatin. They also demonstrated selectivity over normal cells and the ability to interact with certain molecules. Additionally, the complexes showed anti-inflammatory effects comparable to the drug auranofin. This research provides promising insights into potential treatments for ovarian cancer. [Extracted from the article]
