    • Abstract:
This article, titled "Where I Belong," is a personal account written by Hannah Joy Xiao Ai McKean about her experience as an international adoptee from China. Hannah was left on the steps of a hospital in Jiaozuo, China, as an infant and was later adopted by a loving family in Texas. Growing up in a foreign country brought its own struggles, including feeling different from others and facing questions about her appearance due to her Mongolian spots. Hannah wrestled with questions about her identity and faith, but eventually found support and understanding through joining an online group for international adoptees. She also had a transformative encounter with a businessman who shared his perspective on adoption and God's plan. Hannah now helps other adoptees adjust to life in America.
