The article discusses the life, career, and artworks of Mexican painter María Izquierdo. Topics explored include the presentation of her works at the 2024 Venice Biennale art exhibition in Italy, comparison between Izquierdo and fellow Mexican artist Frida Kahlo with regard to their contribution to Mexican popular arts, and the theme of her 1932 painting "Circus Bareback Rider" that now belongs to the Blanton Museum at the University of Texas at Austin.
