    • Abstract:
The President of Djibouti, Ismail Omar Guelleh, has maintained stability in a volatile region and balanced superpower interests without sacrificing independence. Djibouti's strategic geographic location has allowed it to develop its ports infrastructure and ancillary industries, leading to sustained economic progress. The country maintains diplomatic relations with countries around the world, including China and the United States, and sees the presence of military bases as a manifestation of confidence in Djibouti as a strategic partner. Djibouti is focused on diversifying its economy, attracting private sector investment, and promoting sustainable development. The country is also actively involved in regional economic integration and supports the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) to stimulate economic growth and development on the continent. As the Chair of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), Djibouti is committed to promoting peace, security, and development in the region. [Extracted from the article]
