    • Abstract:
Rolex SA has increased the prices of some of its precious metal watches in the UK by 4% due to the rising cost of gold. The price of the Rolex Daytona chronograph in white gold has risen to £38,700 ($49,312) from £37,200, while the yellow gold GMT Master II now costs £35,400. Rolex's country-specific prices are often seen as an indicator of a country's economic strength. The price of gold has surged 14% this year, reaching a record high of $2,450 an ounce in May. Rolex typically raises prices once a year, but has made additional increases in response to major currency fluctuations. [Extracted from the article]
