    • Abstract:
Hungarians and EU citizens residing in Hungary are preparing for the upcoming European and local elections on June 9th. The meteoric rise of Péter Magyar and his Tisza Party has transformed Hungarian politics, with Magyar gaining support through social media campaigns and allegations of government corruption. Despite his initial alignment with the Fidesz nationalist-right philosophy, Magyar's active supporters mainly come from the liberal-left opposition camp. Polls suggest that Fidesz will likely win the most seats, followed by Tisza, the DK-led alliance, and Our Homeland. In the Budapest City Mayor race, incumbent Gergely Karácsony is favored to win, with a comfortable lead over his rivals. [Extracted from the article]
