- Abstract:
A recent report from Universite de Paris provides new insights into rheumatoid arthritis (RA), a chronic autoimmune disease. The study focused on the role of genetic factors in the development of RA and identified gene-gene interactions associated with the disease in the focal adhesion pathway. The researchers found that certain interactions between genes, such as MYLKFLNB and DOCK1LAMA2, either increased or decreased the risk of developing RA. These findings were confirmed in a replication sample, and functional and genomic data further supported the role of these genes in RA. [Extracted from the article]
