    • Abstract:
Marie Makuate, from Cameroon, plays an important role in getting medical help to people as quickly as possible during natural disasters. As a geospatial expert, she creates up-to-date maps that reveal the changes to the landscape caused by events such as earthquakes. This is vital to the emergency services because it lets them know, for example, which roads are still clear for them to use. In fact, Makuate used her skills when an earthquake struck Morocco in September 2023. She has also founded Geospatial Girls and Kids, which offers free training in geospatial science to young women.Marie Makuate [Extracted from the article]
