    • Abstract:
Ericsson believes that Information Communications Technology (ICT) can play a crucial role in helping sub-Saharan Africa achieve its climate targets. Their research shows that ICT solutions have the potential to reduce global greenhouse gas emissions by up to 15% by 2030. Ericsson is committed to achieving a Net Zero emission status across its value chain by 2040 and aims to cut emissions by 50% in the supply chain and portfolio by 2030. They are also focused on developing technological innovations to reduce network energy usage and have a strategy in place to responsibly dispose of e-waste. Through their Product Take-Back (PTB) management program, they have successfully recycled approximately 98% of the waste electronic and electrical equipment they have taken back. Ericsson emphasizes the importance of individual responsibility in securing a sustainable future and is committed to enabling sustainable growth and economic development in Africa.
