    • Abstract:
A study conducted at University Hospital Albert Einstein College Med in the Bronx, New York, examined the demographics and clinical characteristics of school-age children and adolescents diagnosed with autism at age 7 and older. The study found that 25% of the children received an initial diagnosis of autism after age 7. These children were more likely to have language disorders, anxiety, and higher cognitive skills. The researchers concluded that longitudinal studies in ethnically diverse populations are needed to better understand the trajectory and clinical profile of autism. [Extracted from the article]
