      Does history have a meaning for life? This question permeates Nietzsche's criticism of the conceptions of history of his time. This criticism is most evident when confronted with Hegel's conception of history as a realization of the spirit. The elaboration of the thesis of the eternal return of the same is an attempt to overcome the different conceptions of history and conform life to the changes that are inherent to them.
