- Additional Information
- Abstract:
This article, published in 2003, discusses a new surgical technique called Hybrid Parastomal Hernia Endoscopic Repair (HyPER) for treating parastomal hernias. The procedure combines open and laparoscopic approaches and has shown promising outcomes in terms of postoperative complications, recurrence rates, and patient satisfaction. The study included 95 patients and reported a low complication rate. The authors, Marek Szczepkowski, Alicja Przywózka-Suwała, Bartosz Ziółkowski, Piotr Witkowski, and José Perea, provide information about their research and work in this field, as well as their affiliations with medical institutions in Warsaw, Poland, Madrid, Spain, and Salamanca, Spain. Further studies with larger patient populations and longer follow-up are needed to evaluate the long-term effectiveness of the technique. [Extracted from the article]
