- Abstract:
A recent study conducted by investigators at Yale University examined the distribution of funding from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act to psychiatric care organizations (PCOs). The researchers found that funding was more equally distributed across PCOs of different sizes in psychiatry compared to other specialties. However, PCOs received substantially less relief funding per provider relative to other specialties. The researchers suggest that this disparity in funding deserves further attention, considering the specific earmarks of the CARES Act intended to improve mental health care capacity.
