Methodology for implementing a game based digital therapy using generative AI to reduce impulsivity in game-addicted adolescent. (English)
    • Abstract:
Gaming addiction is a significant social issue among adolescents in South Korea. However, due to factors such as stigmatization and high treatment costs, adequate treatment is not always available. Therefore, game-based digital therapies have been proposed as a solution to address issues related to affordability, accessibility, and patient motivation. Additionally, mindfulness-based digital interventions have demonstrated effectiveness in controlling impulsivity associated with game-addiction and can solve the problems of traditional drug treatment. Therefore, there is a need to develop mindfulness-based digital therapies for game-addicted adolescents. This paper presents a methodology for implementing a game-based digital therapeutic intervention to alleviate impulsivity. Mindfulness elements are defined and applied in games, and generative AI NPCs, PCGs, and VR are presented as methods for implementation. It also explores the considerations that should be taken into account when implementing through generative AI NPCs, PCGs, and VR. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
