A retrospective study conducted by Nippon Veterinary and Life Science University in Japan examined the prevalence and breed predisposition to feline respiratory diseases. The study analyzed the medical records of 540 cats with respiratory diseases from 2003 to 2020. The results showed that certain breeds, such as the American Shorthair, Russian Blue, and Scottish Fold, were more prone to respiratory diseases. The study concluded that understanding the characteristics and duration of each disease can aid in diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and further research on feline respiratory diseases.
