      The lighting manufacturer Sylvania will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2024. The company was founded in 1924 in the US state of Pennsylvania and is now present in over 50 countries with more than 1200 employees. Sylvania was the first company in the world to manufacture fluorescent lamps in 1938. It also developed the first lamps for plant growth in 1959 and the GU10 spotlights with a universal base in 1996.
