This document is an editorial from the journal "Brain Sciences" discussing the current status and future perspectives in glioma invasion research. The editorial highlights the need to better understand the molecular mechanisms underlying GBM invasion in order to develop effective treatment methods. It also provides an overview of several articles included in a special issue of the journal, which cover topics such as the role of the tumor microenvironment, in vivo invasion models, and imaging techniques for detecting nonenhancing tumors in GBM.
