Este artículo estudia las representaciones de España en el discurso del presidente mexicano Andrés Manuel López Obrador. El trabajo parte de una discusión teórica sobre la formación de memorias e identidades políticas y propone un análisis de marcos interpretativos (frame analysis) de la producción discursiva del mandatario durante sus primeros cuatro años de Gobierno (de diciembre de 2018 a diciembre de 2022). Para ello, se ha construido una unidad de análisis de 321 alocuciones, seleccionadas de entre sus conferencias diarias --conocidas como mañaneras--, y se han identificado tres marcos dominantes: el colonial, el neoliberal y el republicano. Las conclusiones apuntan al carácter conflictivo de España en el discurso de López Obrador, en la medida en que propone una relectura de las relaciones históricas entre ambos países como parte de una revisión sustantiva de la identidad política mexicana. This article studies the representations of Spain in the discourse of Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador. The paper starts from a theoretical discussion on the formation of memories and political identities, and proposes a frame analysis of the president's discursive production during his first four years in office (from December 2018 to December 2022). To this end, a unit of analysis of 321 speeches, selected from among his daily conferences --known as «mañaneras»-- has been constructed, and three dominant frames have been identified: the colonial, the neoliberal and the republican. The conclusions point to the conflictive nature of Spain in López Obrador's discourse, insofar as he proposes a re-reading of the historical relations between the two countries as part of a substantive revision of Mexican political identity.
