- Abstract:
Duke Health has been awarded $33 million in federal funding to work on a regenerative treatment for osteoarthritis. The funding will support a collaborative research effort involving Duke University, Boston Children's Hospital, and the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. The goal of the research is to develop therapies that can regenerate joint tissues and enhance the process of cartilage regeneration. Osteoarthritis is a major cause of disability and places a significant financial burden on the US healthcare system. [Extracted from the article]
