- Abstract:
A recent study conducted at Guilin Medical University in China compared the effectiveness of different treatment approaches for nasopharyngeal carcinoma, a type of cancer. The study found that radiotherapy alone after induction chemotherapy was just as effective as chemoradiotherapy in terms of 3-year progression-free survival. The research involved 383 patients and showed that radiotherapy alone had lower rates of acute toxic effects compared to the combined treatment approach. These findings provide valuable insights for clinicians and patients in making treatment decisions for nasopharyngeal carcinoma. [Extracted from the article]
