ERCP in children. 15 years experience in a tertiary hospital in Spain.

This article, published in the journal Endoscopy, provides a retrospective study on ERCP (endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography) procedures performed in children at a tertiary hospital in Spain. The study included 114 ERCP procedures performed on 75 patients between 2007 and 2023. The procedures were performed under anesthesia by experienced adult endoscopists using Olympus duodenoscopes. The most common indications for ERCP in children were choledocholithiasis, recurrent pancreatitis, and biliary strictures. The study found that ERCP in children is an effective and safe procedure, with a technical success rate of 88.5% and mild adverse events occurring in 11.4% of cases. [Extracted from the article]
