    • Abstract:
Abraham Lincoln's iconic black bow tie, often seen slightly askew in photographs, was actually a pre-tied clip-on. The tie was sewn onto a cloth band that fastened around his collar, and it was intentionally angled to give it a fashionable and rakish slant. The tie, which is now in the collection of the Smithsonian Museum of American History, reveals that Lincoln was too busy to bother with tying his own ties. [Extracted from the article]
