    • Abstract:
A recent study conducted in a pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) in Canada examined the effectiveness and safety of a therapeutic plasma exchange (TPE) program for critically ill patients. The study found that TPE could be delivered quickly and safely in the PICU for various indications, with multiorgan dysfunction syndrome (MODS) being the most common diagnosis. The median time from PICU admission to initiation of TPE was 38 hours, and the median PICU length of stay was 10 days. No adverse events were reported. This research provides valuable insights into the use of TPE in pediatric critical care. [Extracted from the article]
