- Abstract:
Neurochips, electronic devices that link a person's brain to computer software, have the potential to cure diseases like epilepsy, dementia, and addiction. These chips, which are smaller than a fingernail, can record and repair brain activity. They have applications beyond epilepsy, such as blocking pain signals or preventing cravings in drug addiction. While there are risks associated with the technology, further research and investment are needed to make these advancements a reality. Canada, despite having brilliant minds in neuroscience, lags behind in neurotechnology and needs to prioritize the long-term benefits of neurochips. [Extracted from the article]
