    • Abstract:
A California man attempted to steal a self-driving vehicle from Waymo, the self-driving technology company affiliated with Google, in downtown Los Angeles. However, he was unable to operate the controls and was detected by Waymo, who immobilized the vehicle and ordered him to exit. The police arrived and arrested the man, who has been charged with attempted grand theft auto. Waymo stated that there were no injuries or damage to the vehicle. This incident occurred shortly after Waymo received approval to transport riders in most of Los Angeles. [Extracted from the article]
