- Abstract:
An independent engineer, Richard Koenigsberg, who inspected a Bronx apartment building that partially collapsed, has agreed to a two-year suspension from examining facades in New York City. Koenigsberg had mistakenly described a load-bearing column as decorative rather than structural during his inspection. He has agreed to a voluntary two-year suspension and a $10,000 fine. Separate investigations into the collapse are being conducted, and property owners are being sued. The collapse caused no fatalities but left some families temporarily homeless.
