    • Abstract:
The Children in Nature Collaborative, a grassroots movement focused on connecting children to the natural world, will be ending after nearly 20 years. The movement was inspired by Richard Louv's book, Last Child in the Woods, which highlighted the importance of nature in children's lives. The Collaborative brought together leaders from various disciplines and fields of work in the Bay Area, who worked beyond their organizational roles to create a larger sense of themselves as builders, connectors, and visionaries. The movement led to the development of an interconnected ecology of leadership that was different from traditional models. Despite the Collaborative sunsetting, its members will continue to engage in communities of practice and systems change. [Extracted from the article]
