      This paper tries to convey some of the Pierre Marty’s and The School of Paris’ developments within its use in a team formed by psychologist and social workers in a non-profi t private social entity one of whose aims is to offer psychosocial support to cancer patients and their families. The School of Paris formulated a nosological classifi cation of psychosomatic, according to different categories in relation to mentalizing ability which is useful to diagnose and make a prognosis of the probable evolution of cancer patients, among others, and its severity.       Este trabajo pretende mostrar algunas de las especifi cidades del modelo de Pierre Marty y la Escuela de Psicosomática de París, en referencia a su aplicación en una institución sin ánimo de lucro en el trabajo con personas con enfermedad oncológica. Esta escuela creó una herramienta, la clasifi cación psicosomática, que resulta de utilidad diagnóstica y pronóstica en este tipo de pacientes.
