    • Abstract:
A new report from the King Faisal Specialist Hospital discusses a rare case of autoimmune encephalitis in an 11-year-old Saudi boy. The boy presented with symptoms of fever, headache, behavioral changes, cognitive impairment, and focal seizures. Tests revealed the presence of autoantibodies against glutamic acid decarboxylase-65 in his serum and cerebrospinal fluid, as well as against Sry-like high-mobility group box 1 in his serum. The patient responded well to intensive immunosuppressive therapy. This research provides valuable insights into the diagnosis and treatment of autoimmune encephalitis in children.
