    • Abstract:
Researchers from Normandie University in Caen, France have conducted a study on nerve growth factor receptors. They found that the activation of the TrkB receptor and transactivation of the 5-HT [4] receptor have positive effects on neuronal differentiation. Based on these findings, the researchers have designed and synthesized a small set of compounds with potential dual activities to prevent neuronal death and induce neuronal differentiation in neurodegenerative disorders. This research was supported by the European Union's Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Program. [Extracted from the article]
