- Abstract:
Yum! Brands Inc., the owner of Taco Bell, KFC, and Pizza Hut, reported lower-than-expected sales in the fourth quarter of 2023. Same-store sales increased by 1%, which was below analysts' expectations. Yum attributes the weaker sales to a challenging environment for restaurant chains, citing weaker consumer sentiment and the impact of the war in the Middle East. Despite this, Yum expects its results for this year to align with its long-term growth targets. Taco Bell saw a 3% increase in same-store sales, while KFC experienced a 2% rise. Pizza Hut, however, had a 2% decline in same-store sales. Yum's shares fell by 2.6% in premarket trading. [Extracted from the article]
