    • Abstract:
A team of scientists recently discovered that the New Guinea singing dog, a species believed to be extinct, is still alive and thriving on the island. The dogs had been hiding in remote areas for the past 50 years due to human encroachment on their territory. The scientists confirmed the identity of the dogs by comparing their DNA with that of captive singing dogs. This exciting discovery has prompted efforts to protect these unique canines in the wild.
