    • Abstract:
Scientists have discovered a new antibiotic called Zosurabalpin that can kill Carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii (CRAB), a type of bacteria that is resistant to most antibiotics and poses a serious threat to human health. CRAB bacteria have a protective outer shell that allows them to survive attacks from medicines and the immune system. Zosurabalpin works by preventing the bacteria from building this shell, making them more vulnerable to destruction. The antibiotic has been tested on mice and is now being tested on humans, although it may take several years before it becomes available. In another study, researchers found that a daily mixture of probiotics and prebiotics can help treat long Covid symptoms. [Extracted from the article]
